Richard Kimmerling

Richard rejoins us after a few years absence.

2019 statement: What impresses me mostly about Harry Becker is his skill as a draughtsman coupled with the keen observational powers which he brings to bear in celebration of ordinary working people and their connection with the Suffolk landscape.

Hi etchings use sensitive, searching lines which build to create form, shape and fluidity in contrast to the broad and confident brushstrokes employed to the same ends in his Paintings.

My own subject matter is largely landscape based, which I explore through etchings, monotype prints and paintings, and Harry Becker’s work is so often a reference point for me.
