Mary Harington Kirk

Mary is new to IBBAS this year.

Her statement…   In a few lines, a few brushstrokes Harry Becker knew how to capture a world which could still be glimpsed when I was a child. The agricultural landscape of his Suffolk has all but disappeared. It cannot be reproduced, but in my paintings – a century on from Becker – I attempt to depict the rural context of Suffolk today. The skies and sweep of the land remain, and are my most frequent theme.
