Being a multi-media artist I am challenged by needing many different skills. The complete freedom of expression and interpretation that I seek I find most challenging in my painting. I do get glimpses of it and I know when I have found it. However, it is different with my drawing and sculpture where I am in a much more comfortable place, experimental, and enjoying different approaches. My portfolio probably reflects this. The Suffolk and Norfolk countryside and coastlines and the female form are my current inspirations.
I am in awe of Harry Becker’s approach to artwork. He was confident, free and not precious about his work, drawing on whatever scraps of paper were available to him. For me he is an excellent role model.
