My love of painting began with sketching and drawing mainly on location, which I believe brings a liveliness to the work that cannot be captured in the studio.
When I first came across the work of Harry Becker, I realised I had found a kindred spirit . His work records all that he sees around him and has an immediacy that I love.
In using my medium of dip pen and watercolour wash, I similarly look to capture the ladscape as I see it today.
