Moving to Suffolk some twenty-six years ago, and having worked in the equine industry all my life, I came across an exhibition of Harry Becker’s work in Southwold.
I was inspired and moved by his wonderful feel for Suffolk rural life, and his observations of the countryside and of farm workers. I saw the way he used light, paint, colour and brush strokes to capture a little sample of time that has stood still.
Painting every day with the passion of plein air as much as possible around our county, I look to find that inspired image! This search keeps the artist working to offer a future sample of the 21st. century.
