Saturday 4th August sees our first “Paint-out” painting competition offering a figurative subject as well as any landscape or other choice that individual competitors may make. ARTISTS please click Paint Out info for competitors. (Malcolm Cudmore) where you will find all details.
We think the figurative subject may make our competition unique in this field. In addtion we are moving site. Because Harry Becker’s grave is in Holy Trinity Blythburgh churchyard, (Blythburgh, Suffolk) we are asking artists to register at Holy Trinity and to consider using that location as their painting subject. A working party will be clearing the Becker grave (Becker’s wife and daughter are also buried there) on the Saturday morning, and will be our figurative subject for those who would like to give this a go.
So if you are an artist wanting to take part in the competition, please click above to download details since you need to bring a number of items. Registration is at Holy Trinity Blythburgh at 9.15 on Saturday 4th August. There is plenty of free parking by the church, and if figurative painting is not your thing, the River Blyth mudflats and reedbeds are right on the doorstep, and the church itself, ‘The Cathedral of the Marshes’ makes a fine alternative subject too.
We will be advertising these changes widely, so that any public who would like to visit to watch the paintings in progress will know what’s happening on this new site.
